Terms of service
Last updated 28 June 2026. By downloading, installing, or using Stacksmith, you agree to these terms.
Licence
Subject to these terms and your trial or purchase, Stacksmith grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on Macs you own or control. Stacksmith is licensed, not sold, and we retain all rights not expressly granted.
Free trial
Stacksmith includes a one-time 7-day free trial with full functionality and no licence key required. The trial is recorded locally and cannot be reset by reinstalling. When it ends, a valid licence is required to keep using the app.
Beta software
Stacksmith is provided as a beta release. That means:
- It may contain bugs, errors, and incomplete or experimental features.
- Behaviour and features may change, be added, or be removed between updates, and updates may not always be backward compatible.
- It is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind.
- You should not rely on it for business-critical or production workflows, and you should keep your own backups of important work.
Stacksmith starts and stops local development processes that you define in your .stacksmith.yml. You are responsible for the commands you configure it to run. We are not responsible for data loss, interrupted work, or other side effects caused by those commands.
Beta pricing
During beta, Stacksmith is offered at a reduced price. The price will increase when Stacksmith leaves beta. If you buy a licence during beta, it remains valid and we will not ask you to pay the difference later.
Payments and refunds
Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. Refunds are handled in line with Lemon Squeezy's refund policy; if something is wrong, contact us at support@getstacksmith.appand we will try to help.
Acceptable use
You agree not to resell or redistribute the app or your licence key, share keys beyond the scope of your purchase, or attempt to circumvent licensing. Except where permitted by law that cannot be excluded, you agree not to reverse engineer or decompile the app. You are responsible for using Stacksmith in compliance with applicable law.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stacksmith is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of Stacksmith. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid for your licence.
Termination
This licence ends automatically if you breach these terms. You may stop using Stacksmith at any time.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new date above.
